Altenmarkt- Zauchensee – your holiday location
Altenmarkt-Zauchensee is one of the most popular holiday regions in Austria. As one of eight villages of the Salzburger Sportwelt region, Zauchensee is embedded in gentle valleys around the Dachstein and the Tauern mountains. During summer and hiking holidays, Zauchensee is a starting point for a diverse recreational range of activities: 1,000 km hiking trails, 500 km mountain bike trails, two long-distance cycle paths, bridle paths and many mountain lifts in operation during the summer. Furthermore, there are beautiful bathing lakes in the surrounding area, the Amadé thermal bath, and for golfers, there is an 18-hole competition course and a 9-hole Golf Academy course at the Golfclub Radstadt.
As open and young as Altenmarkt-Zauchensee appears to visitors, this region is also steeped in history: the many buildings, such as the Deanery Parish Church in Altenmarkt with the stone statue of the "Schöne Madonna von Altenmarkt” Holy Mary with child from 1393, near witness to this. Interesting stylistic contrasts can be seen here, for example, the Gothic nave and the late Baroque onion tower.
Fresh clear air, clean mountain streams and an extensive range of recreational activities all contribute towards successful holidays in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee on our “Sinnhubbauer” farm, which provides all the prerequisites for families, sports enthusiasts and nature-lovers!
