Childhood dreams spring back to life, as you enjoy an old-fashioned sledding expedition with traditional wooden sleds, zipping down the hillsides towards the valley below.
The natural toboggan run on the Hochbifang starts out at 1300 meters above sea level. It leads you through the forest, with gentle curves along the way, is always very well maintained and even floodlit after dark. The toboggan run on the Schwemmberg is 3.5 km long. If you don't have your own sled, you are welcome to borrow one. And when it's time to warm up a little? At one of the many alpine huts in the area, of course!
Floodlit Toboggan Run on the Hochbifang
The floodlit run from the Hochnössler-Alm and Bifei´s Hütt´n takes you on a 4 km ride down a specially constructed course to the valley terminal of the Hochbifang lifts.

Horses and Pure Romance
Whether in the saddle or in the back of a sleigh, the chilly season in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee promises pure romance for those wishing to get away from the ski slopes and cross-country trails for a while. And where better than those well-maintained winter bridle paths.
For beginners we would recommend a short ride along the valley bottom next to the River Enns. You can also enjoy the magical winter countryside during a romantic sleigh ride through the beautiful Zauchtal, through the forests and across the fields, or perhaps during a tour of the village of Altenmarkt instead.
Tip: A sleigh ride out to a friendly local farm, to the Neuhäusl or out in the direction of Radstadt to Gasthof Sonnegg. Sleigh Sizes: 8 - 14 passengers
